Marinette County Trout Unlimited

Welcome to the Marinette County TU Chapter website.

Within the boundaries of Marinette County are 191 rivers and streams, (totaling 614 miles) classified as trout waters, the most of any county in Wisconsin. Fifty-two streams or stream sections are designated as Outstanding Resource Waters and an additional 109 streams or stream reaches are designated as Exceptional Resource Waters. These are also more than any other county the state.

Because of a core of dedicated members and volunteers, our chapter has been providing manpower and funds to help maintain or improve the area cold-water resources since 1983. We have also helped to obtain easements and provide additional public access to several area trout streams. Unlike many organizations, nearly all of our monies are used on projects here in Northeast Wisconsin.

A winter fishing program is offered at no cost for people of all ages to promote trout fishing, fly tying and casting. In the summer, the chapter supports youth fishing days in both Marinette and Peshtigo..

I hope you can attend a meeting, come to our annual banquet in April or simply spend some time fishing or relaxing in Marinette County!
